Patient Services Specialist
The Takoda Institute’s accredited Health Information & Patient Services Specialist program prepares graduates to work in entry-level medical office positions. Students will gain knowledge and skills in electronic health records, billing and coding, medical terminology, and more.
Program Length- Six months
Start Date- October 4, 2017
Course Times- Course times vary, but take place primarily during the hours of 8am-6pm, Monday through Friday.
Financial Aid- Pell grants and scholarships fully cover tuition, books, and fees for qualifying students. Assistance completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid is provided.
Employment- Students are provided with individualized career support including assistance job searching, developing résumés, cover letters and LinkedIn profiles, and preparing for interviews.
Career Information- According to the Minnesota Department of Employment & Economic Development, medical assistants are the 44th most in-demand occupation in the Twin Cities metropolitan area and are paid an annual median wage of $35,479 (December, 2014).
Accreditation- Takoda’s Health Information program is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges and is a WIOA certified training.
